Cawthorne Parish Council

Yorkshire in Bloom

The Yorkshire in Bloom competition is an annual event with judging twice a year, set to Royal Horticultural Society standards. Cawthorne qualifies in the ‘Village Section’. We have taken part for many years and regularly win a Silver Award; the framed certificates hang in the Parish Room, and an impressive shield is displayed in the Cawthorne Victoria Jubilee Museum!

The Yorkshire in Bloom Group is a very small group of volunteers who tidy the village, twice or more times a year, and try to plant and replenish for each season. We try to encourage the school children to join in and volunteers are readily welcomed – if you would like to help just contact any Parish Councillor.

We are all devoted to our beautiful village and endeavour to make it as attractive as possible for the many visitors who come throughout the year, from far and near.  Cawthorne is well known and well loved, we feel so fortunate to live here and we want everyone else to enjoy the village as much as we do.
