Publication of Parish Notes

Parish Notes are written and published within five working days of Parish Council meetings. A copy of Parish Notes is then placed on the Parish Council Notice Board located in the centre of the village. A number of copies are also placed in the village post office and the village stores. Other copies are distributed with the All Saints Church magazine, which is not delivered until towards the end of the month. This is why those who rely on reading the copy distributed in the magazine sometimes read outdated information. Please remember that the information is correct at the time of going to press, and can be read from the copy on the Notice Board.

Freedom of Information Act 2000

At its meeting on the 6^th November 2008, the Parish Council adopted the New Model Publication Scheme 2008. The ‘Cawthorne guide to proactively published information for the public’ can be accessed on the Parish Council website, www.cawthorne.org.uk, or viewed on the Council notice board. A copy may be obtained from the Parish Clerk on payment of a nominal fee.

Dog Fouling - Darton Road

The Parish Council has received a number of complaints about a resident of the village permitting his dog to foul in gateways/driveways along Darton Road. Not only is this anti social, and a health hazard, it is illegal, and contrary to local by-laws.

Horse riding along path between Stanhope Avenue and Orchard Terrace

Horse riders are requested to be aware of pedestrians when riding along the above path.

Overhanging trees, bushes etc.

Residents are requested to trim back trees and bushes which overhang public pavements and the highway.

Cawthorne Footpaths Guide

The footpaths guide has been reprinted and is now available from the village post office, the village shop and the Museum.

Parish Council Grants

Applicants for grants for the financial year 2009-2010 are advised that applications should be submitted to the Clerk by the 5^th December 2008.

Next Meeting of the Parish Council

The next meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Thursday 4^th December 2008, at 7.40 pm, in the Moxon Room, Village Hall. All parishioners are welcome, and are encouraged to attend at 7.30 pm.
