PARISH NOTES MARCH 2009
Grants
At its recent meeting the Parish Council granted £400 to the Choices Youth Club and £100 to the Victoria Jubilee Museum. Applications for small grants can be made at any time. Please write to the Clerk to the Council, details below.
Crime Prevention
Because of the increase in the number of burglaries in Cawthorne over the past few months. South Yorkshire Police have mounted extra patrols in Cawthorne and initiating a ‘Cold Call’ project within the village in the near future.
Anti Social Behaviour
As previously reported youths have taken to congregating in and around the Museum grounds at Taylor Hill, and are causing a nuisance to nearby residents. South Yorkshire Police and the Safer Neighbourhood Team are aware of this problem and are taking appropriate action.
Inconsiderate Parking
A number of motorists have taken to parking their vehicles on the pavement along Darton Road, causing obstructions to pavement users including mobility scooters and people pushing prams etc. This is inconsiderate behaviour therefore said motorists are asked to stop doing this.
Annual Parish Meeting
The Annual Parish Meeting will be held on Wednesday 1st April 2009, at 7.00 pm in the Moxon Room, Village Hall. This is not a Council Meeting but a Parishioners Meeting. All are welcome to attend and to raise any matter of interest.
Next Meeting of the Parish Council
The next meeting of the Parish Council will be the Annual Meeting of the Council and will be held on Thursday 7th May 2009, at 7.40 pm, in the Moxon Room, Village Hall. All parishioners are welcome, and are encouraged to attend at 7.30 pm.
