Parish Notes June 2007
Annual Report
The Annual Report for the period 2006 – 2007 has now been published, and will be distributed to all households by the end of June 2007. If you have not received a copy by then, please contact any Councillor or the Clerk to the Council.
Model Code of Conduct 2007
At the Parish Council meeting held on the 10th May 2007 the Council adopted the new Model Code of Conduct 2007, including paragraph 12(2) which permits a member with a prejudicial interest in an item on the agenda to address the Council on said item, after which the member must withdraw from the room whilst the item is considered. The Code applies to all Councillors. Any parishioner wishing to see the Code and Councillors’ declarations under the Code, may do so by contacting the Clerk to the Council.
Members of the public wishing to address the Parish Council
At its meeting on the 7th June 2007, the Council resolved that ‘a member of the public may address the Council for not more than three minutes on any item on the agenda for a meeting, provided that said member of the public has given notice in writing to the Clerk of the Council of the wish to address the Council by 7.30 pm on the day of the meeting.’ This resolution gives members of the public a similar right to Councillors who have prejudicial interests in agenda items. The agenda for Council meetings will be displayed on the parish notice board when the Notice calling the meeting is displayed, i.e. the end of the week before the meeting. Notice in writing may be hand delivered to the Clerk at the start of the meeting; sent by e mail to cawthorneparishclerk@msn.com; or alternatively sent by post to:
Mr. F. Johnston,
Clerk to Cawthorne Parish Council,
c/o 23 Hall Farm Grove,
