Councillor John Wilson, Penistone East Ward, BMBC
 
          Councillor Wilson will be holding a surgery on Saturday 16th February 2008, from 10 am until 12 noon, in the Moxon Room, Village Hall. The surgery is open to all who wish to raise issues with Councillor Wilson.
 
Planning Application for erection of a log cabin at the Cawthorne Children’s Centre
 
            The Parish Council has strongly objected to the above application.
 
Pot holes in the highway
 
            The Parish Council has raised the issue of potholes in the highways in Cawthorne with BMBC’s Highways Department, which is taking appropriate action.
 
Overgrowing hedges and bushes
 
            Overgrowing hedges and bushes are causing a nuisance to pedestrians in the village, and with some trees, such as hawthorns, are causing a danger. Residents are asked to cut back overhanging hedges and bushes.
 
Parish Council Meetings and Public Question Session
 
The following procedure to enable parishioners to address the Council came into effect from the July 2007 meeting of the Council. Councillors and the Clerk attend at 7.30 pm as per usual practice; members of the public who are in attendance are allowed to ask questions of the Council, on any matter, from 7.30 pm to 7.40 pm; at 7.40 pm the formal meeting of the Council commences. Members of the public are not permitted to participate in the formal meeting unless they have complied with the requirements previously advertised.   
 
Next Meeting of the Parish Council
 
The next meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Thursday 6th MARCH 2008, at 7.40 pm, in the Moxon Room, Village Hall. All parishioners are welcome, and are encouraged to attend at 7.30 pm.
