Parish Council Grants
Applicants for grants for the financial year 2009-2010 are advised that applications should now be submitted to the Clerk by the 9th December 2008.
Stone Wall Top Stones
Inconsiderate hikers are removing stone wall topping stones to use as stepping stones on muddy footpaths, particularly at
Motor vehicles on bridleways
It is an offence for persons to drive motor vehicles, including motor bikes, on bridleways, therefore the persons who are consistently doing this on bridleways within Cawthorne are requested to stop, otherwise the Parish Council will have to obtain police involvement.
Play area within Cawthorne
The Parish Council has established a working group to examine the feasibility of providing a play area for children somewhere in the village. Any constructive suggestions or ideas from parishioners are welcome.
BMBC’s planning application process
The Chief Executive of BMBC has confirmed in a detailed letter that the BMBC Planning Department does take into account observations and objections from the Parish Council, and from parishioners, when considering planning applications, and that the Cawthorne Village Design Statement is also taken into account. The Chief Executive gave two detailed examples of how the process works.

The above planning application has been refused consent by BMBC.
Next Meeting of the Parish Council
The next meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Thursday 8th January 2009, at 7.40 pm, in the Moxon Room, Village Hall. All parishioners are welcome, and are encouraged to attend at 7.30 pm.
