Parish Notes December 2007
Parish Council Notice Board
The Parish Council Notice Board is for displaying Parish Council notices, and for displaying details of community events, news, and organisations. It is not for displaying commercial business advertising. Any notices advertising commercial businesses will be removed from the Board.
Flyers Advertising Events
Organisers of local events are requested to remove their advertising flyers once the event has been completed.
Cemetery Rubbish Bin
The Parish Council has provided a rubbish bin in the cemetery, so that cemetery visitors can deposit unwanted flowers etc. into it. Recently users have once again started dumping flowers etc on the ground beside the bin, rather than using the bin. Parishioners are reminded that the bin should be used for disposal of unwanted flowers, etc, not the ground.
Correspondence with the Clerk to the Council
Once again can I remind Parishioners that if you are writing to the Clerk to the Council, would you please put Cawthorne Parish Council on the envelope, so that the Clerk is aware that it is not personal or other business mail.
Parish Council Meetings and Public Question Session
The following procedure to enable parishioners to address the Council came into effect from the July 2007 meeting of the Council. Councillors and the Clerk attend at 7.30 pm as per usual practice; members of the public who are in attendance are allowed to ask questions of the Council, on any matter, from 7.30 pm to 7.40 pm; at 7.40 pm the formal meeting of the Council commences. Members of the public are not permitted to participate in the formal meeting unless they have complied with the requirements previously advertised.
Next Meeting of the Parish Council
The next meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Thursday 3rd JANUARY 2008, at 7.40 pm, in the Moxon Room, Village Hall. All parishioners are welcome, and are encouraged to attend at 7.30 pm.
