Parish Council grants during the year 2012 – 2013

The Council’s Budget Committee will be considering applications for grants for the year 2012 – 2013 at it’s meeting in December this year. Bona Fide parish organisations are invited to apply for grants by sending written application letters to the Clerk to the Council. Grants are not available to individuals.

Annual Audit year ending 31st March 2011

The End of Audit Notice for the year ending 31st March 2011 has been removed from the notice board after being displayed for the requisite two week period. The Council wishes to thank Mr. Frank Matthewman for continuing to act as Internal Auditor for the Council.

Golden Jubilee Committee

The Council Golden Jubilee Year Committee welcomes suggestions for events to celebrate the Queen’s Golden Jubilee. Please forward any suggestions to either the Clerk to the Council or to any Councillor.

Remembrance Sunday

Remembrance Sunday this year is Sunday 13th November 2010. Councillor Margaret Broadhead, Chairman of the Council, will lay a wreath on behalf of the residents of the Parish of Cawthorne. Councillor John M. Wilson, Penistone East Ward, will represent Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council. Mr. John A. G. Lees will be the Parade Marshal.

Bus timetable changes

Local bus services have recently undergone substantial changes. Some of these changes have affected the routes which service Cawthorne and the surrounding villages. Timetables detailing the new routes/times are available from Travel Information Centres. Alternatively details may be obtained from the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive website, which is www.sypte.co.uk.

Next Meeting of the Parish Council

The next meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Thursday 3rd NOVEMBER 2011, at 7.40 pm, in the Moxon Room, Village Hall. All parishioners are welcome, and are encouraged to attend at 7.30 pm.
