Minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting April 2011
MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL PARISH MEETING OF CAWTHORNE PARISH, HELD IN THE MOXON ROOM, CAWTHORNE VILLAGE HALL, ON THURSDAY 14th APRIL 2011, AT 7.00 PM.
Present:
Cawthorne Parish Council: Councillor Mrs. M. J. Broadhead, Chairman of Cawthorne Parish Council, Chairman of the Annual Parish Meeting; Councillors Ms. D. M. Asquith, E. C. Ellis, D. C. Hindley, P. Kilner, S. Pitt and J. G. Walker. Cllrs. Barr and Eyley had sent apologies for non attendance due to other business commitments.
Clerk to the Council: Mr. F. Johnston, LL. B. (Hons), Barrister-at-Law, FIoD, PILCM, Clerk to the Council, was appointed Clerk for the purposes of the meeting.
Parishioners: Three.
Apologies were received on behalf of Mr. T. F. Matthewman, JP, the Internal Auditor, who was unable to attend because of personal reasons.

Minute No. 2 Reports
a. Councillor Broadhead delivered the Chairman’s report.
b. The Clerk reported on finances.
c. Councillor Ellis reported that once again there had not been any meetings of the Penistone Road Safety Committee in the last twelve months, and that he assumed the Committee was now defunct.
d. Councillor Walker reported that the Footpaths and Environment had nothing to add to the meeting except to say that overall the Footpaths were OK.
e. Councillor Hindley, in her role as Chairman of the Village Hall Committee, thanked the Council for the recent grant, and gave an update on its use; she also thanked all present for their support at the recent jumble sale which had raised the sum of £500 towards Village Hall finances.

Minute No. 3 Other Business
a. The Clerk was asked to pass on best wishes to Mr. Matthewman.
b. A parishioner raised the issue of continual problems with speeding vehicles throughout the village, in particular at Church Street, junction of Church Lane. The issue of inadequate white lines at that location, and along Darton Road, was also raised.
Minute No. 4 Closing
There being no other business, the Chairman thanked all for attending, and closed the meeting at 7.15 pm.
