Play facilities in the Orchard

At the meeting held on the 3rd March 2011, after a Notice of Motion to rescind the decision made on the 3rd February 2011 not to proceed with the project was received, the Council reconsidered that decision, and taking into account the quantified costs, the Council resolved by 8 to 1 to proceed with this project. All funding is in place; the required reports have been commissioned; and the equipment has been ordered. Completion date is expected to be mid to late May 2011, subject to normal slippage.

Parish Council Elections

Elections will be held in May this year for all nine seats on the Parish Council. If any person is interested in standing for election to the Council, and would wish to have information about the role, duties, responsibilities of a Parish Councillor, and criteria for standing for election, please do not hesitate to contact the Parish Clerk who will be pleased to discuss same. The electoral timetable is:

Notice of Election Friday 25th March 2011;

Close of Nominations Noon Monday 4th April 2011;

Publication of Statement of Persons Nominated Noon Wednesday 6th April 2011;

Notice of Poll Friday 8th April 2011;

ELECTION DAY Thursday 5th May 2011.

Annual Parish Meeting

Councillor Broadhead, Chairman of the Parish Council, has exercised her right to call the Annual Parish Meeting, and will be holding it at 7 pm on Thursday, 14th April 2011, in the Moxon Room, Village Hall. THIS IS NOT A MEETING OF THE COUNCIL BUT A MEETING OF ELECTORS. ALL ARE WELCOME AND ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.

Next Meeting of the Parish Council

The next meeting of the Parish Council will be the Annual Meeting of the Council which will be held on either Wednesday 11th May 2011, or Thursday 19th May 2011, dependent upon the election results, at 7.40 pm, in the Moxon Room, Village Hall. All parishioners are welcome, and are encouraged to attend at 7.30 pm.
