News: Grant support for the Victoria Jubilee Museum Society
Mary Herbert, Hon Secretary of the
‘We at the Museum feel extremely fortunate to have been able to call on the Cawthorne Parish Council for grants to help with our projects. We could not easily have met the costs from our funds and therefore it would have been doubtful if we could have continued the projects without this extra money.
The Council has helped us to purchase equipment to make our coffee mornings so much easier, e.g. a boiler, vacuum jugs, large flasks and trays etc.
We have been able to have a specially made splendid wrought iron fence and hand rails to the two-tiered terrace, not only making it look more attractive, but also much safer for our visitors.
In 2007, a Council grant enabled us to print a good supply of our own publicity leaflets and posters for distribution around other areas, hopefully helping to attract more visitors to the Museum and to Cawthorne.
The Museum is run solely by volunteers, and we do appreciate all the financial help our Parish Council has generously awarded to us.’
