News: Fund Raising is A Success

Toddler and Baby Group enjoy successful fund raising

Cawthorne Toddler and Baby Group have built on their recent grant of £200 from the Parish Council to further increase their funds. A purchase of a gazebo enabled the Group to use it at the recent Summer Fete, where £106 was raised by ‘face painting’ and selling old toys – ‘using the gazebo as a ‘base’ for the Group was so successful that it will be used at future fund raising events’ Libby Dry the Secretary of the Group tells our website administrator.

The remainder of the grant has been used to buy a kardex system to keep a record of members, with a new dolls’ house on the agenda, once members decide which ‘is the one for them!’

Libby thanks the Parish Council for its support, and says that the grant has helped the Group’s project in two ways, namely in that the gazebo gives them more scope in deciding how to fundraise and secondly, the old dolls house had become quite shabby, and being wooden was impossible to keep clean, so as it is a very popular toy the time was right to replace it with a new one.
