News: Footpaths: rights of way considered

THE Footpaths Committee held one meeting in the last year. In December 2004 Mrs. S. Ford, the Countryside and Rights of Way Officer with BMBC gave a presentation on the local Rights of Way Improvement Plan, and the proposed public consultation exercise. It was highlighted that an attempt will be made to have the unlisted paths in the centre of Cawthorne village included in the countryside definitive map. A possibility of linking Cawthorne to both the Transpennine Trail and the Dearne Valley, by bridleway, was also discussed. Public consultation questionnaires / forms were distributed on behalf of the Council by Councillor Asquith.
