Closure of South Lane
South Lane will be closed for two days, ie 18th and 19th January 2010, to enable road works to be carried out at the stretch of road adjacent to Elmhirst Farm.
Grit Bins
BMBC provide grit bins for, and locate them for highway safety only. They are not provided for private property. Bins have already been put out for this winter. Applications for three further grit bins to be located at Taylor Hill, adjacent to the museum steps, Tivydale adjacent to the Village Hall road, and Church Lane, are being assessed by BMBC as part of a current assessment process.
Street Lighting
Street lighting throughout Cawthorne will be replaced by the end of the financial year 2009-2010. The Village Design Statement which is Supplementary Planning Guidance will be taken into account when considering the style of the lamp columns, and the Parish Council will be consulted as part of the project.
Grants
There are still limited funds available for small grants which will be payable until the end of the financial year 2009-2010. Applications are invited for grants for the year 2010-2011. Please write to the Parish Clerk.
Next Meeting of the Parish Council
The next meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Thursday 7th January 2010, at 7.40 pm, in the Moxon Room, Village Hall. All parishioners are welcome, and are encouraged to attend at 7.30 pm.
