Play facilities on the Orchard
a. Children playing at the play facilities have been throwing apples into nearby residents’ gardens. This has resulted in at least one greenhouse window being broken. Users of the facilities are asked to ensure that children they are responsible for do not act inappropriately and are mindful of nearby residents and their properties.
b. A number of teenagers have taken to congregating at the facilities and are using them, mainly the swings. Their behaviour has been causing a nuisance to neighbours, particularly late in the evenings. If this type of anti social behaviour continues the Parish Council will have no choice but to notify the police and request appropriate action. All users are reminded that the swings are for the use of children up to the age of 12.
c. The fence between the Orchard and the Spencer Arms car park has been vandalised. The Parish Council will prosecute any person caught vandalising or otherwise damaging Council Property.
Parish Councillors’ family members
Parish Councillors’ family members are not members of the Council. Parishioners are reminded that it is inappropriate to accost said family members in public and try and discuss Council matters with them. If any person wishes to discuss Council matters then they should either contact a Councillor direct, or the Clerk to the Council.
Parking on the yellow cross hatching on Tivydale outside the school
Motorists are reminded that it is an offence to park on the yellow cross hatching outside the school during the prohibited hours.
Parish Council grants
The Council has a limited amount available to award as grants to bona fide parish organisations. Sums this year are less than last year however organisations are encouraged to apply. Please send any applications to the Clerk to the Council, details below.
Annual Report
The Parish Council Annual Report has now been published and distributed throughout the Parish. If readers have not yet received a copy of the report please contact either a Councillor or the Clerk.
