Co-option on to the Parish Council
Cawthorne Parish Council is interested in hearing from anyone aged 18 years and over who either lives in, or works in, Cawthorne for co-option onto the Council. No formal qualifications are necessary, merely an interest and enthusiasm in putting something into your community. If you are interested in this worthwhile position, please contact the Clerk to the Council, who will supply you with further details on how to apply. The closing date is 4.30 pm on Friday 13th August 2010, with interviews at 7.00 pm on Thursday 26th August 2010.Appointments are unpaid, require a time commitment, and all Councillors are subject to the Statutory Code of Conduct for Councillors.
Parish Council Grants
The Council has awarded a grant of £250 to Penistone FM Radio towards equipment costs. There are still some limited funds available for small grants to bona fide organisations. Please apply in writing to the Parish Clerk.
Play Facilities in the Orchard
This project is currently on hold as it is possible that the central government funding may now be withdrawn from all the Play Builder projects nationwide. If funding is not withdrawn then the project will proceed as planned.
Eric Chappell Ellis, Honorary Freeman of the Parish of Cawthorne
Eric Ellis will be formally presented with his written address on the morning of Saturday 28th August 2010, in the Moxon Room, Cawthorne Village Hall. The event will commence at 10 am. All parishioners are invited to attend and will be warmly welcomed. Light refreshments will be served.
Parish Council Meetings and Public Question Session
The following procedure to enable parishioners to address the Council is still in force.
Councillors and the Clerk attend at 7.30 pm; members of the public who are in attendance are allowed to ask questions of the Council, on any matter, from 7.30 pm to 7.40 pm; at 7.40 pm the formal meeting of the Council commences. Members of the public are not permitted to participate in the formal meeting unless they have complied with the requirements previously advertised. This procedure also applies to Council Committee Meetings.
Next Meeting of the Parish Council
The next meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Thursday 30th SEPTEMBER 2010, at 7.40 pm, in the Moxon Room, Village Hall. All parishioners are welcome, and are encouraged to attend at 7.30 pm. Please note change of date.
