Annual Parish Meeting
The Annual Parish Meeting was held on the 14th April 2011, at 7.00 pm, in the Moxon Room, Village Hall. The main issues raised, in addition to reports from the Parish Council were that of speeding through the village and the lack of white lines along Darton Road and at the junction of Church Street and Church Lane.
Extract from the Finance Report delivered to the Annual Parish Meeting
The Parish Council continues to be on a sound financial footing. The accounts for the year ending 31st March 2010 were audited by both the internal and external auditors last summer and were found to be in good order. In accordance with legislation the audit report was displayed on the Parish Council Notice Board for 14 days after receipt of it. A full financial report was also published in the Annual Report for the year 2009– 2010 that was distributed to all households in the Parish.
Bank balances as at the 31.3.11 were, excluding a ring fenced £16,000 grant from BMBC towards the play facilities, and a ring fenced £2000 for possible election expenses, in the region of £20,000, as anticipated. Budgeted running costs for the year 2011 – 2012 are in the region of £21,000. Grant aid of up to £4500 takes anticipated expenditure up to the region of £25,500. The precept is remaining static at £21,000, with the shortfall of £4,500 coming from reserves.
The accounts for the year under consideration will be audited this summer. Public notices will be displayed in due course as to when the audit period will be, and the final audit report will be displayed after the audit has been completed.
