News: Annual Parish Meeting 2010
MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL PARISH MEETING OF CAWTHORNE PARISH, HELD IN THE MOXON ROOM, CAWTHORNE VILLAGE HALL, ON THURSDAY 1st APRIL 2010, AT 7.00 PM.
Present:
Cawthorne Parish Council: Councillor Mrs. M. J. Broadhead, Chairman of Cawthorne Parish Council, Chairman of the Annual Parish Meeting; Councillors Ms. D. M. Asquith, R. Barr, E. C. Ellis, and P. Kilner. Cllrs. G. Eyley, D. C. Hindley and J. G. Walker had sent apologies for non attendance due to other business commitments.
Clerk to the Council: Mr. F. Johnston, LL. B. (Hons), Barrister-at-Law, FIoD, PILCM, Clerk to the Council, was appointed Clerk for the purposes of the meeting.
Parishioners: One.

Minute No. 2 Reports
a. Councillor Broadhead delivered the Chairman’s report.
b. Councillor Barr reported on the Recreation Ground Trust.
c. The Clerk, on behalf of Cllr. Walker, reported on Footpaths matters
d. The Clerk reported on finances.
e. Councillor Barr reported that once again there had not been any meetings of the Penistone Road Safety Committee in the last twelve months.
Minute No. 3 Other Business
a. A parishioner thanked the Parish Council for its support of, and grant aid to, the Cawthorne Victoria Jubilee Museum.
b. Two attendees requested that the meeting next year be called for 7.30 pm.
c. The Chairman noted that the mobile flashing speed limit signs had not yet been used on Darton Road, although this had been promised by BMBC Highways many months ago.
d. The Clerk informed the meeting that he had received a letter asking him to place on the next Parish Council Meeting agenda a proposal that the Parish Council bestow the title of Honorary Freeman of the Parish of Cawthorne upon Eric Chappell Ellis.
Minute No. 4 Closing
There being no other business, the Chairman thanked all for attending, and closed the meeting at 7.30 pm.
